Where a stalled car can't stay parked overnight in winter
- October 15 to April 15, midnight to 8 a.m. To clear snow, City Code 22-112 bans parking in those hours on 16 named stretches of street.
- Check the list for your block. The named stretches include Pine Street between First and Sixth streets and Third Street between Clark Street and Kimball Avenue. A car that won't start there can't be moved at midnight, so give it a driveway before October 15.

Going to the county treasurer for a title or plates? Hall County's Motor Vehicle Department is at 121 South Pine, first floor. That is not the Treasurer's main address on South Sycamore. It's open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., phone (308) 385-5030. At the counter it takes MasterCard, American Express and Discover for vehicle registrations. Visa works for those only online (Hall County Treasurer).
Cash for your car in Grand Island
An article of the city code deals with cars like this one: Chapter 17, Article IV, Unlicensed or Inoperable Vehicles. Its section titles cover these vehicles as public nuisances, where they may be placed, their removal, and the storage of damaged vehicles.
We make offers on high-mileage work trucks, hail-dented cars and cars that have sat for years. A car that won't start doesn't need a jump or a trailer, because the truck that picks it up has a winch. If yours is past fixing, our page on cash for junk cars explains how that sale works.
For hail dents, read our guide to selling a hail-damaged car. When a high-mileage work truck finally quits, selling a car or truck with a knocking or overheating engine and selling one with a slipping transmission walk through those sales.
