Privacy, in plain language.

What we collect

When you call, text, email, or fill out a form on this site, we collect what you provide: your name, phone number, email address if you give one, your ZIP code, and details about your vehicle. Form submissions are delivered to us by email and handled by the same people who answer the phone. We don't require accounts, and we never collect payment information — selling through us costs you nothing.

How it's used and who sees it

Your vehicle and contact details are used to produce offers on your vehicle and to follow up with you about them — that's the service. Where a partner buyer is involved, the details needed to make you an offer are shared with that buyer. We do not sell your information to unrelated advertisers or data brokers, and we don't send marketing for anything other than the sale you asked about.

The instant-offer button goes to a partner site

Buttons like “Get My Instant Offer” take you to our buying partner's website. Anything you enter there is collected by them under their privacy policy, not ours. The link tells them you arrived from our site, which is how we're credited if you sell. We don't see what you type on their pages.

Calls and texts

By contacting us or requesting a callback, you agree we may reach you by phone, text, or email about your vehicle. Message and data rates may apply. Reply “stop” or just tell us to stop, and we will.

Hosting, analytics, and cookies

This site is served through Cloudflare, which processes visitor traffic to deliver pages and block abuse, and may set operational cookies for security. Cloudflare also counts page views — which pages are requested, from which country, on which kind of device. That count sets no cookies and does not follow you between sites.

We also offer Microsoft Clarity, and this one deserves a straight explanation rather than a line of boilerplate. Whether we ask first depends on where you are. In states whose law requires everyone's agreement before a visit can be recorded — California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Florida, Massachusetts, Washington and several others — nothing is recorded unless you choose Allow on the small card we show, and saying no thanks means the script is never loaded at all. We remember either answer so you are only asked once. Elsewhere in the U.S., recording may be on from your first page, and you can still say no: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we never record you anywhere, card or no card, and the opt-outs below work in every state. If we cannot tell where you are, we ask rather than assume. Visitors outside the U.S. are always asked. When Clarity does run, it records how pages are used: mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and which pages you move between. We watch those recordings to find where the site is confusing — a button nobody can find, a table that breaks on a phone, a step where people give up. That is the whole reason it is here.

What it does not record: anything you type. Microsoft's own documentation is explicit that the contents of input boxes and drop-down menus are masked in every mode and that this cannot be switched off — masked content is never uploaded at all. So your name, phone number, email, ZIP and vehicle details go to us when you submit the form, and they do not go to Microsoft. Our setting also masks numbers and email addresses appearing anywhere else on the page.

Clarity does set cookies, including one used for advertising. Two are first-party and only identify your visits to this site: _clck and _clsk. The rest are Microsoft's own: CLID, ANONCHK, MR, SM and MUID. Microsoft describes MUID as identifying browsers across Microsoft sites and says it is used “for advertising, site analytics, and other operational purposes.” We do not receive that advertising data and we do not run ads — but the cookie is set by having Clarity on our pages, so you should know it is there. Recordings are held by Microsoft for 30 days, with a small sample kept up to nine months, and are governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

If you have changed your mind — or you are in a state where we did not ask — turning on Global Privacy Control stops the recording entirely, and clearing this site's data in your browser resets any answer you gave. You can also opt out at Microsoft's end: opt out of Microsoft's collection at optout.aboutads.info by selecting Microsoft, or turn on Global Privacy Control in a browser that supports it — Clarity honours that signal. Blocking cookies in your browser also stops Clarity setting them. None of this affects your ability to use the site or get an offer.

Beyond Cloudflare and Clarity we run one more thing, described next. There is no Google Analytics on this site, no advertising pixel, no retargeting tag, and no social-network script.

The “preferred source” button. The footer of every page has a button that adds Sell My Car Hub to your Google preferred sources, and after you open one of our forms or reach the end of a guide a small card offers the same thing. When that button is about to scroll into view, or the card appears, the page fetches a small script from news.google.com so the button can work without leaving the page; that request reaches Google like a visit to any Google page and is covered by Google's privacy policy, not ours. The script draws nothing and does nothing until you tap the button, and it tells us nothing about who you are. We keep one count per day of how often the card or button was shown, tapped or closed, whether Google confirmed the add, what prompted it (a download, the end of a page, the footer, the thank-you page) and which section of the site it was on — never who. Your own browser remembers whether you have seen, closed or completed it, and when, so we do not keep asking; nothing about that leaves your browser. Tapping the button opens Google's own settings, where you can also remove us again.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell the information you give us, and we never have. Your name, phone number, email, ZIP and vehicle details — nobody pays us for access to any of it, it is not offered to advertisers or data brokers, and it is not traded, rented, or bundled into any list. That is separate from the analytics cookies described above, which are set by Cloudflare and Microsoft rather than by us and never carry what you type; we receive no advertising data from them and no money for their being here. The one place your details go is the buyer who makes your offer, because that is the thing you asked us to do — they receive what they need to price your vehicle and complete the sale, and nothing beyond that. We are paid by the buyer when a sale completes, not for handing over your information, and no offer or service on this site costs you anything.

Your choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — whichever state you live in. Email help@sellmycarhub.com and a person will handle it.
