From offer to an empty parking space
- Describe it as it sits. What it is, the last odometer reading, how long it has been parked, and whether it cranks, clicks or does nothing. A dead battery, flat tires and a lapsed sticker all go in; the offer is set on that description, not renegotiated in your driveway.
- Pick your window. Tell us when you are free when you accept the offer, and the pickup is scheduled inside it. The car does not have to start or roll; the driver comes ready to load it from the driveway or the side street. If it sits on the street, watch for red-and-white Emergency No Parking signs: the code has them go up at least 12 hours ahead and last no more than 72 hours, and cars left there are towed.
- Be there to sign and get paid. Whoever is named on the title signs, the payment changes hands, and only then does the car go up on the truck.
Where we pick up around Warwick
Free pickup covers all of Warwick, and pickups here schedule quickly, from Apponaug (02886) and Cowesett to Norwood (02888), Gaspee, Hillsgrove, Conimicut (02889) and Oakland Beach. Cranston is covered too, and West Warwick and East Greenwich are close enough for a same-week pickup.
Left it at someone else's house in Warwick? The same article of the city code says an unregistered car kept on property its owner doesn't own or live at may be treated as abandoned and removed. If your car is parked at a relative's place with a lapsed registration, book the pickup at that address rather than moving it home first.
Cash for your car in Warwick
Warwick's code gives the owner of an abandoned, junked or dismantled car 72 hours to remove it once the police order it off private property (Chapter 76, Article VI). If the car has sat so long that fixing it no longer makes sense, you don't have to fix anything first: we buy cars in Warwick as they are parked. Past saving? Cash for junk cars in Warwick comes with the same free pickup, and our junk car page explains what a junk-car offer is made of.
For a car parked with a blown head gasket, a seized engine or a failing transmission, selling a car with engine problems and selling a car with a bad transmission help you decide whether that repair still makes sense. If it has sat since a crash, selling a car with accident damage covers whether to fix it first or sell it as it is.
Car trade-in value in Warwick, next to a cash offer
A trade-in figure from a dealer is a credit toward the car you buy from that dealer. Our offer is a price for your car alone, so get it before you visit the dealer and you have a second number to hold the trade-in against. How the two compare is set out in trade-in vs. selling your car.

Asked by Warwick sellers
Which DMV branch serves Warwick?
The RI DMV lists no branch in Warwick. Its Cranston Headquarters, at 600 New London Avenue, is open weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. by reservation only (RI DMV locations). The city's own DMV page, under the Assessor's office, only links to the state's online forms for cancelling a registration and changing your address.
My title is from another state. What does a Warwick buyer need before registering the car?
A VIN check by the Warwick Police, if the car is a 2001 model or newer and was titled or registered in another state. Checks run Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 to 11 a.m., at the shed by the pond next to the public boat ramp. The fee is $20, cash only. The buyer brings the original title, or a copy if there is a lien, plus photo ID or a utility bill from the last 60 days showing a Warwick address (Warwick PD). The department checks only for Warwick residents, businesses and dealers, so a buyer from another town can't use it.
Will Warwick send me a car tax bill after I sell?
Not a new one. The city's FY2026 rate card says “The Motor Vehicle Tax has been eliminated!” (current tax rates). The Tax Collector's Office still lists motor vehicle taxes among what it collects, so if you owe a car tax bill from before the tax ended in 2022, that office is the one to call.
