The part that catches people out
Form MVD-10901 covers it, and the $5.00 is for a vehicle title specifically — a boat title is $12.00 on the same form. There is no premium tier and no expedite fee published, so the cost question in New Mexico is genuinely settled by a single number, which is not something we can say about most of this table.

The lien rule is the one to watch. If a lien still shows on the record, New Mexico wants a Release of Lien — and absent one, the duplicate is posted to the lienholder rather than to you. The application will still be accepted; the title simply will not arrive.
